Is it Safe to Drink Water after Milk?

Milk is said to be a complete meal in itself which includes Calcium, Iron, Vitamin-B. It gives energy and also makes your bones stronger. But, there are a lot of food item combinations that you should not do together.

Drinking water right after milk can disturb the stomach and cause digestive issues. Some believe that drinking water before having a cup of milk is healthy. Whereas some believe that drinking water after having a cup of milk is harmful.

This might be because the water slows down the metabolism process of milk proteins, thus making the stomach produce more acid to digest the same amount of milk. This makes our stomach acidic resulting in the pain. The problem is especially bad for people who have a hypersensitive stomach. This also applies to drink water after the food which causes heaviness and a feeling of bloating. Drinking water after consuming milk wouldn’t be the cause of a long-term trouble, but it is better to be careful and consult a physician in case of digestive problems.
